COMO Uma Canggu is a significantly stronger family hotel than its design-forward branding might suggest. The Play by COMO kids club runs daily for ages 4–12, complimentary, with creative workshops, mini yoga, Balinese cultural activities, and beach adventures. The Turtle Club surf program for ages 6–12 combines structured surf instruction with an ocean-awareness classroom component. Children under 5 dine free throughout the resort. Ages 6–12 get 50% off all meals. COMO Beach Club daybed access is included for all guests. That’s a genuinely compelling family package at the premium tier. The accommodation is well configured for families. Two- and three-bedroom residences with kitchenettes sleep up to 5 and 7, respectively. Lagoon Pool Residences open directly onto the resort’s large lagoon pool. Baby monitors, cots, bottle warmers and high chairs are all available on request. Interconnecting rooms are confirmed available across categories. The beach is betweenBatu Bolong and Echo Beach — surf territory, not calm swimming. Hotel pools and the lagoon are where young children swim. COMO Shambhala wellness facilities are exceptional for parents — Pilates studios, yoga, spa treatments, steam rooms, all included in the stay.

About Canggu
Cool, creative and multi-layered. For families who want Bali on their own terms.
Canggu is Bali’s coolest neighbourhood, and it knows it — but somehow gets away with it. What started as a sleepy surf village has evolved into one of the most talked-about destinations on the island, attracting a creative, international crowd who come for the waves, the coffee shops, and the energy that’s genuinely hard to match.
It’s not a traditional resort area. The hotels here are mostly small, and it’s essentially a villa area; the vibe is more “beach town” than “international resort strip.” The family hotels in Canggu give families a decent range in prime locations, without losing the neighbourhood feel.
The surf is real here — Batu Bolong and Echo Beach are proper breaks — and the whole area has an outdoor, active energy that older kids and teens respond to immediately. The cafe scene is extraordinary, and thanks to a thriving expat community, family activities and play spaces are genuinely well catered for. The restaurants are world-class, the cocktails match, and the sunset vibe is among the best on the island. Canggu is quietly Bali’s best-kept foodie secret.
It’s not the right call for families with very young children who need maximum resort infrastructure. But for families who want to feel like they’re experiencing Bali rather than just visiting it — Canggu’s boutique family hotels are the answer. Get amongst it, then retreat to your hotel; sounds nice.
