Noema Resort Pererenan

Mid Range $$$$

Our Take

Noema Resort is the newest boutique hotel arrival in Pererenan, the quieter, more village-like pocket at the northern edge of the Canggu area — and it’s worth being upfront that it isn’t trying to be a family resort in the traditional sense. The branding leans creative and design-led, aimed more at artists, surfers and digital nomads than at families with young kids. But underneath the aesthetic, there’s a genuinely solid, relaxed family offering, and that’s worth knowing about rather than dismissing on first impression. Most of the eight room categories are design-led rather than family-configured — from a compact 32 sqm Tropical Studio to a spacious 152 sqm Borea Penthouse sleeping up to six. A few details do stand out for families specifically: the ground-floorTropical Lagoon Studios open directly onto the lagoon pool via a private path, several suite categories pair a single bed with a large double for a family of three, and there’s a genuine kids’ offering in the Mai Main Playground plus a family pizza-making class, wall climbing, and kids’ activity credits. Pererenan itself has fewer hotels than the busier stretches of Canggu, which makes this a good base for exploring the trendy village area as well as nearby Seseh — both quieter, more local alternatives to the main Canggu strip. Where Noema wins is location and vibe: a three-minute stroll to Pererenan’s surf beach, two restaurants on site (Paparempa for Indonesian and archipelago cuisine, Mamaloma for all-day dining), a rooftop pool with hot tub, a lagoon pool, free bicycles, and easy reach of Canggu’s wider café scene. Think of this as a well-located boutique design stay with a genuine family play area included, rather than a resort built around family life from the ground up. Walkability to cafes, spas, and boutique shopping is a plus for parents, and Pererenan in general is family-friendly, more so than a party zone.

Bali Family Hotels in Canggu

About Canggu

Cool, creative and multi-layered. For families who want Bali on their own terms.

Canggu is Bali’s coolest neighbourhood, and it knows it — but somehow gets away with it. What started as a sleepy surf village has evolved into one of the most talked-about destinations on the island, attracting a creative, international crowd who come for the waves, the coffee shops, and the energy that’s genuinely hard to match.

It’s not a traditional resort area. The hotels here are mostly small, and it’s essentially a villa area; the vibe is more “beach town” than “international resort strip.” The family hotels in Canggu give families a decent range in prime locations, without losing the neighbourhood feel.

The surf is real here — Batu Bolong and Echo Beach are proper breaks — and the whole area has an outdoor, active energy that older kids and teens respond to immediately. The cafe scene is extraordinary, and thanks to a thriving expat community, family activities and play spaces are genuinely well catered for. The restaurants are world-class, the cocktails match, and the sunset vibe is among the best on the island. Canggu is quietly Bali’s best-kept foodie secret.

It’s not the right call for families with very young children who need maximum resort infrastructure. But for families who want to feel like they’re experiencing Bali rather than just visiting it — Canggu’s boutique family hotels are the answer. Get amongst it, then retreat to your hotel; sounds nice.
