The InterContinental Bali Resort has been on Jimbaran Bay since 1993, and it still sets the benchmark. It’s a big, beautiful property — extensive Balinese-inspired gardens, six pools including a dedicated kids’ pool with a slide, a direct beachfront position with that classic Jimbaran sunset, and a kids’ club (Planet Trekkers) that goes well beyond babysitting into genuinely engaging cultural programming, including meals. The staff culture here is something guests come back for — remembered by name on day two, warm attentiveness throughout, the kind of hospitality that makes people return year after year. The Club Wing is a resort within a resort: dedicated butler service around the clock, exclusive pool and lounge. It’s an older property, and some parts show their age—this is a resort that trades on genuine character, exceptional staff, and an outstanding beachfront setting rather than on brand-new finishes. If freshly renovated rooms are your priority above everything else, factor that in. But for families who want consistent, deeply experienced luxury hospitality directly on Jimbaran Bay, this is the one that keeps delivering.

About Jimbaran
Seafood on the beach, sheltered beach and some of Bali’s finest resorts. Bali made simple.
Jimbaran is the kind of place that sneaks up on you. It’s not purpose-built like Nusa Dua andit’s not buzzing like Canggu — it’s something in between that’s genuinely hard to find in Bali. The bay is sheltered and still, the sunsets are ridiculous, and the famous seafood warungs on the beach at dusk are one of those Bali experiences every family should do at least once.
The family resort strip in Jimbaran is home to some of the island’s most prestigious properties — Four Seasons, Ayana, InterContinental — all sitting on or above the bay with views that do the talking. It’s a genuinely luxurious corner of Bali without the energy of the more built-up areas further north.
The beach is swimmable, and the pace is unhurried, and the whole area has a settled, confident feel to it. Not much happens in Jimbaran beyond the hotels and the seafood strip— and for many families, that’s exactly the point.
It sits close enough to the airport to make arrival easy, and close enough to Uluwatu to make a sunset at the Temple or a surf at Bingin feel like a very achievable day trip. For families looking for luxury hotels in Bali without the fuss, Jimbaran delivers every time.
