If you want a resort that takes the hard work out of a family holiday, Padma Resort Legian is one of the finest examples in Bali. It sits directly on Legian Beach, with 435 rooms across nearly seven hectares of tropical gardens, multiple pools, including a lagoon pool with lagoon-access rooms, a kids’ pool with waterslides and shallow wading areas, and the Wolly Kids Club, with foam parties several times a week. The resort has been named Best Beachfront Family Resort at the Exquisite Awards, and families return eight, nine, ten times because it delivers consistently. Salt-chlorinated pools, a three-hour happy hour, and staff who know returning guests by name. Worth knowing before you book: Padma sits at the Legian end of the strip, which has a different character to the Petitenget and Seminyak end. The neighborhood outside the gates is more mid-range tourist territory — closer to the cheerful, unpretentious energy of Legian and Kuta than the boutiques and beach club of Petitenget. Inside the resort gates is a different world entirely. If you’re planning to spend most of your time within the resort, that’s irrelevant. If you want to wander and explore the area between swims, it’s worth factoring in. Your kids are likely to meet other kids to play with at the pool!
