Canggu with Kids: The Best Family Hotels in Canggu

Canggu has become one of Bali’s favorite bases for families who want surf, cafés and a creative, laid-back energy, all on the doorstep. Traditionally, it’s been villa territory, and most families staying here have booked a private villa. But the family hotel scene has come a long way, and there are now some genuinely great hotels in Canggu for families who’d rather have a kids’ club, resort pools and someone else doing breakfast.

“Staying in Canggu” can still mean quite different things, though, because Canggu isn’t one place. It’s a long stretch of coastline made up of three villages, each with its own feel.

Is Canggu too busy for families?

Canggu has a reputation for being busy, and it’s fair to say it’s livelier and a little more chaotic than areas like Sanur or Nusa Dua. There are scooters, crowded cafés at peak times, and a constant buzz from morning to night.

That’s exactly where a good Canggu hotel comes in. Head out and enjoy the colourful atmosphere, the great restaurants and the shopping, then retreat to your hotel for some pool time, or a quiet night in with room service while the kids wind down. You get the energy of Canggu when you want it, and a calm base when you don’t.

Where to stay in Canggu with kids: the three villages

Berawa sits closest to Seminyak and is the most family-focused of the three. It’s polished and convenient, with cafés, shops and beach clubs all close by.

Batubolong is Canggu’s beating heart, home to the Old Man’s surf break and Echo Beach. It’s the liveliest of the three, and it’s buzzy from breakfast to sunset.

Pererenan, further west along the coast, is the one to watch. It’s quieter and more relaxed, but quickly filling with great places to eat.

Choosing the right village matters more than you might think when you’re picking a hotel. The three are linked by narrow “shortcut” roads that are one-way for cars or scooter-only, so getting from one to another can take longer than the map suggests. Pick the village that suits your family’s vibe, and base yourself there.

Canggu family hotels in Berawa

Swarga Suites Bali Berawa

Swarga Suites puts families right on Berawa Beach. It’s an all-suite hotel of 60 suites, and one of the few genuinely beachfront family options in Berawa, with the sand and the sunsets just steps from the pool deck. Cafés, shops and beach clubs are all close by.

For families, the Duplex Family Suite is the reason to book. It’s a two-level suite of up to 130 sqm with a king bed, twin beds and a sofa bed, so parents and kids each get their own floor. Families with little ones should look at the ground-floor Pool Access suites, which open straight onto the pool.

The 550 sqm infinity pool runs through the heart of the hotel, with a children’s pool alongside, a sun deck by the beach and a rooftop bar for sunset drinks. Ketumbar Bistro & Bar serves Asian and international dishes, and 24-hour room service makes a quiet night in easy after a big day out in Canggu. Parents get the Luh Arum Spa, a gym and a yoga deck.

Good to know: there’s no dedicated kids’ club, so Swarga suits families who are happy to make their own fun between the pool, the beach and Canggu’s cafés. Berawa Beach is a surf beach, so little ones are best in the pools. Finns and Atlas Beach Club are nearby, so expect some music on busy evenings.

Canggu family hotels in Batu Bolong

Regent Bali Canggu

For luxury in the heart of Batu Bolong, the Regent is Canggu’s most ambitious hotel. It sits right on the beachfront at Batu Bolong, with the Pura Batu Mejan sea temple on the rocks alongside, and Echo Beach just along the coast.

Every room here is a suite or villa, so even the entry-level rooms are generous. For families, the standout is the Two-Bedroom Penthouse Oceanfront. It has two bedrooms, direct ocean views, and a private infinity pool, which makes it the most complete family setup at the hotel.

And the pools don’t stop there. The Regent has nine of them across the property, which is where little ones will do their swimming. Batu Bolong is a proper surf break rather than a calm swimming beach, but for older kids and teens who want to learn to surf, it’s one of the best spots in Canggu, right outside the gate.

The Regent Kids Corner runs a curated program for younger guests. Parents get the world’s first Regent Spa & Wellness and five dining venues, including the signature restaurant Taru and the laid-back Beach House. There’s also a Regent Experience Agent, a dedicated concierge who books surf lessons, restaurant tables and temple visits, so you can enjoy Canggu without any of the legwork.

Holiday Inn Resort Bali Canggu

Looking for a kids’ club in Canggu? This is the one. In a neighborhood full of boutique hotels, the Holiday Inn is Canggu’s family anchor: a proper resort with a dedicated kids’ club, several pools and direct access to Batu Bolong beach.

The family deal is simple and hard to beat. Kids under 12 stay and eat free, which adds up quickly over a week of breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

The Kids Club is well set up, with a sea-creature theme, climbing structures, reading nooks, arts and crafts, cultural lessons, yoga, treasure hunts and movies. Babysitting is available when parents want a night out in Canggu.

The room to book is the Family Suite. There’s a king bed for parents, bunk beds for the kids, a living area with a fold-out sofa bed, and a private ensuite. For bigger families, the suites can interconnect.

Up top, the rooftop infinity pool has one of the best views in Canggu, and there’s a dedicated kids’ pool for little swimmers. Batu Bolong out front is a surf beach rather than a calm swimming spot, so it’s perfect for older kids keen on a surf lesson. Family-friendly cafés with playgrounds are within walking distance too.

Good to know: kids 13 and over are charged as adults.

Canggu family hotels in Pererenan

Noema Resort Pererenan

If you’d like a quieter, more village-like base, Pererenan is the place, and Noema puts you right in the middle of it. The big win here is walkability. Pererenan’s black-sand beach is a three-minute stroll away, and cafés, spas, and boutique shops are all within easy walking distance. Free bicycles are included too, for exploring the village and nearby Seseh.

Noema is a design-led boutique hotel rather than a traditional family resort, but underneath the stylish look there’s a genuinely relaxed family offering. The Mai Main Playground, wall climbing and a family pizza-making class keep kids busy, and kids’ activity credits are included.

For families, look at the ground-floor Tropical Lagoon Studios, which open straight onto the lagoon pool via a private path. Several suite categories pair a large double with a single bed, which suits a family of three. For bigger groups, the 152 sqm Borea Penthouse sleeps up to six.

Between swims, there’s a rooftop pool with a hot tub and two restaurants on site: Paparempa for Indonesian and archipelago cuisine, and Mamaloma for all-day dining. Batu Bolong and Berawa are about ten minutes’ drive away when you want more of Canggu’s buzz.
